ABOUT NEILA :
Hi! I’m Neila — wife, mom of three, and someone who loves connecting with people and cheering them on. God has been faithful in every season of my life, and I try to carry that gratitude into the way I serve others. I've spent years working in communications and coordination, and now I get to use those gifts in ministry while staying present with my family while our kids are still young.
My husband, Michael, and our three kids — Henry, Vivien, and Wilkes — keep us laughing and on our toes. As a family, we love sports and staying active together. I grew up playing sports myself, and that early love for teamwork and encouragement still shapes the way I show up for others today. I love Jesus, and I want my life — at home, at work, and everywhere in between — to point back to Him.
I’ve always enjoyed organizing, supporting others, and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes. After 14 years in program coordination at the University of Georgia, God opened the door for me to step into a new season that allows me to be more present with my kids and more involved in ministry. I’m continually amazed by His goodness and grateful for the chance to serve in ways that align with my heart and calling.

ABOUT KRISTY:
I graduated in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in marketing from Kennesaw State University. After graduating, I realized that teaching was in my heart, so I began working at Eastside Elementary School as a paraprofessional for one year. I spent the next nine years teaching eighth grade math at Eastbrook Middle School, where I also received a master's degree in mathematics education in 2017. I am currently on my fourth-year teaching math at my alma mater, Southeast Whitfield High School, and I absolutely love it!
In high school I was involved in several sports (volleyball, basketball, and golf), and my adult life has not been much different. I have coached three years of travel volleyball, six years of middle school cheerleading, two years of high school boys' basketball, and am currently on my fourth year as the head cheerleading coach at Southeast Whitfield. I have the MOST amazing group of girls, and seeing their diligence and faith has truly been an inspiration!
God has definitely guided me to unexpected places, and I could not be more thankful for the students and athletes he's allowed me to work with.
Like many others, I have been through many peaks and valleys, but my favorite part about life is seeing how God can not only bring us though those valleys but uses each one to guide us right where we are meant to be. I have an amazing set of parents who were sure to make sure I was raised in a loving church setting, but it wasn't until my late twenties that I really started to see what God could do and have a true relationship with Him. I have found that He is the only one who can truly give us peace in many situations, and that's why my favorite verse is Philippians 4: 6-7: Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
FCA Cheer has also definitely made my faith even stronger. I first took my team to camp in 2022. Seeing Him work through my athletes has given me such an indescribable feeling. I am beyond excited to get to be part of the FCA Cheer staff, and to witness God working in so many lives through this sport that I have grown to love.
